3M Optical Systems Division

This relationship started with a quick microsite that 3M could use to link to at a trade show and that could include an aspirational video. It grew into a large account with tow microsites, a larger division site and offline material

QDEF microsite

3M Optical Systems Divisions makes some amazing stuff... They're an awesome client and we get to hear what light and optics technology is in the queue for TVs, laptops and other devices. We wanted this site to feel like an evolution of their larger site. Where that one dealt with light and is a little more white and airy this one deals with color so we brought in some black so color could pop.

This microsite needed to launch quickly in order to get buzz going ahead of the upcoming CES. Less than two weeks from brief to handoff to the client for development.

Optical Division Microsite

Before QDEF 3M was selling in some revolutionary technology and needed a site to instantly let manufacturers know that they own light. We decided to speak the manufacturers as consumers because really we all are. This shift is seen as we speak more about B2P (business to person) rather than B2B.

The site was incredibly well received and the client relayed her favorite compliment from an asian business partner. He said the site seemed like it was designed in Asia, not the US. He meant that as a great compliment.

We moved to a larger site where we wanted to broaden the target to add early adopters as well. Once complete our client said this brought her to tears.

A fantastically collaborative project.
